Laurel (Schonbrun) Quillen

Assistant Program Director
Born in Japan, Laurel traveled the globe (boldly going where millions of Navy "B.R.A.T.s” have gone before), and discovered at a young age that no matter where you are in the world, you can always turn on the radio and be “home”.   She began her broadcasting career at age 15 in the radio & TV studios of the Armed Forces Caribbean Network in Ceiba, Puerto Rico.  Laurel came to work for WJER in 1997 after graduating from Marietta College in Ohio with previous experience from a variety of stations in the eastern US.  Laurel is a "Jackie of All Trades" for 1450, lending her span of creative talents from announcing to contest & event promotions.
Laurel resides in Dover with her husband Jim and kids Blaze, Alex & ‘Lita.  She also shares her home with cats Jack-Morris & Pretzel (adopted from the Tusc. Co. Humane Society), Greta Garbo the Great Pyrenees mix (also a Humane Society fur-baby) and Hunter the old Beagle (from the Tusc. Co. Dog Pound).  Since she can't adopt them all, Laurel compensates by making and sharing videos of the pets available for adoption at our local Pound and Humane Society, which air regularly on TV-2.  Laurel is a big fan of the “oldies-but-goodies,” including music on vinyl & 8-track, old movies, retro TV & classic cars (because they just don’t make them like they used to!)
If you share a love for classic cars, join Laurel for T-County Classics, on Time Warner Cable TV-2 & watch anytime online at  Follow her on Facebook, where you’ll find local car show information and other fun car stuff.  For more information on T-County Classics and advertising opportunities, call TV-2 at 330-343-1476.
